Working with metal fabrication and automotive systems in a school shop setting is a great opportunity to learn job skills that will translate to almost any hands-on profession. In the JTED program here at the Ajo shop I will present the students with an opportunity every day to learn what they want, and at their own pace. We will cover the relevant technology and techniques for any project or interest that students may have with an emphasis on developing a positive attitude toward the satisfaction of completing personal work projects and goals. A person has to like and enjoy a job, hobby, or any other pursuit in life in order to be really successful at it. This opportunity is where students can find out if the mechanical and fabrication/building professions are for them. I do everything I can to make this and enjoyable and rewarding experience for them.
